Coach Martinez has 13 years of high school coaching experience, including 10 years at SCHS. In his 10 years he has been JV head coach and varsity assistant coach. He has been the Varsity baseball coach for the past four seasons. He played four years at the rival Wilcox High School and was part of the 2004 CCS Championship team as a student-athlete.

Coach Martinez has taken his success as a student athlete and coaching mentors into a successful run in his tenure so far. In his 3rd year as head coach he helped guide the baseball program to its first CCS Championship in program history in 2025. That same year, he was honored as the Bay Area News Group Coach of the Year. 13 of his players have gone on to play at the next level during his 10 years.

Coach Martinez has also been a part of the Girls Flag Football Program since its inaugural season 3 years ago. He was announced the head coach for this upcoming 2026 season after spending the past 2 seasons as the offensive coordinator. He hopes to build off of the program’s first CCS appearance last season.

Beyond high school baseball, Coach Martinez teaches PE and Health on campus. He is actively involved in youth and community athletics. He coaches his daughter’s T-Ball team and the girls Flag Football on campus, reflecting his commitment to growing the game and supporting young athletes at all levels. A valued member of the school and local community, he emphasizes fundamentals, discipline, teamwork, and character while helping student-athletes develop both on and off the field.
